Blogging: The Basics and Beyond

Do you have a blog? Should you have a blog?
What’s next? For the webmaster, casual user or newbie.

Blogging  has, in a relatively short period of time, become an integral part of many companies’ marketing strategies. In this day-long workshop we will consider if and why you or your company should blog, the types of software available and how blogs interact with other social media. You will be introduced to the blogs and the blogosphere, and by the end of the day, you will:

• Learn about the importance of an online point of presence
• Understand how to create a blog and customize its design
• Learn best practices for writing posts
• Understand how to set and reach goals around blogging
• Learn how to promote your blogs
• Explore the various revenue streams associated with blogging
• Be able to integrate other social media channels into your blog

The session will feature plenty of real-world examples, hands-on learning and personal and corporate case studies.
